Meet Oregon Wild

Oregon Wild, one of Wyld’s community partners, works to protect and restore Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters as an enduring legacy for future generations. In the past five decades, Oregon Wild has successfully fought to protect nearly two million acres of Wilderness, over 2,000 miles of Wild & Scenic Rivers, countless endangered wildlife such as gray wolves, vast stretches of old-growth forests, and essential ecosystems across the state. Within the space of environmental sustainability, Oregon Wild weaves diversity, equity, and inclusion in their planning and everyday work and practices building and nurturing strong, authentic relationships with people of different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.Wyld partners with Oregon Wild to lend support to the Call of the Wild, a camp-inspired benefit that celebrates all Oregon’s great wild places. Additionally, we have supported Oregon Wild as they:

  • Secured permanent Wilderness protections for nearly 1.8 million acres of wildlands including Opal Creek, Mount Hood, Columbia River Gorge, and Devil's Staircase.

  • Protected 95,000 acres of forests in the Bull Run/Little Sandy watersheds, safeguarding Portland's drinking water supply.

  • Established nearly 2,200 miles of Wild & Scenic Rivers and are working to advance a once-in-a-generation conservation opportunity to protect over 4,500 miles of Oregon's rivers and more!

Oregon Wild (OW) is dedicated to protecting and restoring Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters as an enduring legacy for future generations. Since 1974, OW has been fighting to protect Oregon’s natural treasures and secured permanent wilderness protections for nearly 1.8 million acres of wildlands such as Opal Creek, Mount Hood, and the Columbia River Gorge.

OW has also protected 95,000 acres of forests in the Bull Run/Little Sandy watersheds, safeguarding Portland's drinking water supply and established nearly 2,200 miles of Wild & Scenic rivers.

This year, OW is taking on two of the biggest campaigns in their 49-year history: a historic campaign to expand river protections and a massive effort to protect forests.

Wyld is proud to be a sponsor of Oregon Wild’s “Call of the Wild” event taking place Friday, October 13, 2023, at The Redd in Portland. This event is a camp-inspired benefit to celebrate all of Oregon’s great wild places, helping OW continue to be a strong advocate for the state’s wildlands and wildlife for years to come.
